Neogen Petrifilm Salmonella Express Plate

Neogen® Petrifilm® Salmonella Express (SALX) System is used for the rapid qualitative detection and biochemical confirmation of Salmonella species in enriched food and food process environmental samples. The Petrifilm® SALX Plate is a sample ready-to-use chromogenic culture medium system that contains a cold-water soluble gelling agent and is selective and differential for Salmonella, providing a presumptive result.

• Petrifilm® SALX System consists of the Salmonella Enrichment Base (FSA0026), the Salmonella Enrichment Supplement (FSA0026), the Petrifilm® Salmonella Express (SALX) Plate (FSA0024), and the Petrifilm® Salmonella Express (SALX) Confirmation Disk (FSA0020 & FSA0022), which are all sold separately
• Petrifilm® SALX Plate can be used with or without the Petrifilm® SALX Confirmation Disk, the Petrifilm® SALX Confirmation Disk may be used only in conjunction with the Neogen® Petrifilm® SALX Plate
• Plate offers presumptive positive results for Salmonella spp. in just 40 hours for processed foods and 48 hours for unprocessed foods
• Confirmation disc (FSA0020 - sold separately) easily added to plate for biochemical confirmation, results in 4 to 5 hours
• Plates are sample-ready, eliminating all the time-consuming steps of preparing media/agar dishes
• Only one enrichment for low-background, processed foods
• Colour card that is used to help match the colour of the isolated colonies on the plate to a presumptive positive Salmonella colony color or non-Salmonella colony colour
