Product Information Management (PIM) Systems Administrator

Our marketing department is fundamental to the success of our business and we are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic and talented Systems Administrator to join our dedicated team.

As a business we are dedicated to the continual development and investment in best technology to allow our business to retain its position in the market; as we are about to embark in the investment and implementation of a new Product Information Management System, we seek a Systems Administrator to take full responsibility for the implementations, configuration, management and continual development of this system which will be a business critical tool for us.

You will support the Marketing Department becoming the internal expert with regards to the PIM software in addition to supporting the broader Marketing Team in the production of all publications.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Taking on the role of Project Lead through the implementation period
  • Becoming a System Administrator and internal point of contact for support
  • Reviewing and implementing new features
  • Managing software upgrades
  • Becoming the main point of contact with external PIM software provider
  • Working closely with both the overall Marketing Manager and Design & Publications Manager to ensure that the PIM software and business relationship works effectively and efficiently
  • Building identified publications/channels ready for output
  • Helping to ensure the accuracy and consistency of content within the PIM
  • Developing and testing InDesign templates/styles for use with the PIM system as well as the production of style guides and SOPs as needed
  • Being responsible for reporting bugs and troubleshooting issues as they arise
  • Advising on and encouraging best practice. Make suggestions on how to use the PIM to its full potential
  • Production of PIM reports as identified by the Marketing Team
  • Supporting the wider Marketing Team including the Product Management Team with regards to the PIM system  

Attributes & Skills Required:

  • Previous experience of using a PIM system is essential. Implementation of a PIM would be desirable
  • Some knowledge of Adobe InDesign and how it interacts with a PIM would be an advantage but not essential
  • Problem solving skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Advanced knowledge of Excel would be useful but not essential
  • High level of attention to detail including excellent spelling and grammar skills
  • Well organised, capable of planning and prioritising workload to ensure deadlines are met
  • Ability to influence others and the need to work well as part of a team
  • Proactive in all tasks
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal

Junior Graphic Designer

Our marketing department is fundamental to the success of our business and we are seeking a creative, driven and talented Junior Graphic Designer to join our Design and Publications Team.

This is a fantastic opportunity where you will support in the successful development and production of marketing collateral in all its forms.   

On a day to day basis, your role will include:

Supporting the Design and Publications Manager in the production of catalogues and promotional literature/graphics. This includes:

  • The design and creation of a wide variety of marketing collateral (both print and digital) including brochures, exhibition stands, flyers, posters, social media graphics, packaging, external company adverts, web graphics. This will include both utilising existing templates as well as creating new ones.
  • Assisting in the production of both our biennial 1,300 page industrial catalogue and our annual 750 page Education catalogue. 
  • Utilising the Product Information Management (PIM) system in the creation of all marketing collateral working closely with other departments including the wider Marketing Team and Product Management Team.

Presenting ideas and concepts to relevant stakeholders.               

Attributes and skills required:

  • Graphic design experience, ideally to degree level
  • Working knowledge of Adobe CC
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Well organised, capable of planning and prioritising workload to ensure deadlines are met
  • Proactive in all tasks
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team in a motivational manner

SLS Select Education Technical Sales Representative - M62 and North

SLS Select Education are experiencing a period of sustained growth and as a result, we require a new Territory Sales Representative for the M62 & North of England region. You will be the face of the company selling and supporting a broad range of science products and services to schools and colleges in the region. 

SLS Select Education is a division of Scientific Laboratory Supplies (SLS), the UK's fastest growing scientific supplier.

Experience or knowledge of school science products is highly desirable and so this role may suit a candidate with experience of working as a Science/Laboratory Technician. Prior sales experience is desirable but we are open to candidates looking for a first role in field based sales. Commercial awareness, technical and communication skills are all key to this role. Ideally the candidate will be located near or around the M62 but applications from across this sales area will be considered.

As a member of the SLS Select Education team you must be self-motivated and keen to thrive on the flexibility and ownership of workload we give to our staff. A full driving licence is essential for the role as candidates should expect to be out in the field visiting customers a minimum of 4 days per week. Life Science Sales Specialist – Southern Territory

Position Summary

This role is at the forefront of driving the sales of all Life Science Products directly to customers and via the Field Sales Team in the Southern Territory. The ideal candidate would have an extensive knowledge of the Life Science sector ideally with research experience in the cell biology and/or molecular biology. Previous selling experience is preferable.     

Primary Duties         

  • Achieve Sales target set by the company
  • Visit customers to promote and sell the SLS Life Science range
  • Provide technical support to the Sales Force
  • Support the Field Sales Team with customer visits and demonstrations or any other required field activity
  • Attend joint customer visits with our key supplier Account Managers
  • Work with key suppliers and the TSM/RSM’s to create selling strategies and regional Marketing Promotions
  • Monitor personal sales against target for the Life Science product range

Attributes & Skills Required

  • Broad experience of Life Science consumables and equipment across all disciplines
  • Strong knowledge of Life Science Research and it’s applications
  • Relationship builder
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing

Territory Sales Manager (Team South)

Position Summary:

Selling Laboratory Consumables, Chemicals, Reagents and Equipment into a Territory within London. Flagship accounts are Kings College London, QMUL & ICR. 

The successful candidate will be expected to meet/exceed target expectations as a whole and also by product segments in established product areas such as liquid handling, life sciences, capital equipment, chemicals and clinical. 

A key component of success will be close coordination and collaboration with a team of product specialists leading these product segments.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, high energy sales person to join this innovative and fast paced business. An individual with a 'can do' attitude who can hit the ground running and be a successful contributor to a rapidly growing company. You must be able to work well within a team as well as organise and motivate yourself.

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Has a minimum of 2 years field sales experience which ideally would be within academia and research, Biotech, clinical and Pharma or industrial laboratory environments (this is preferred but not essential)
  • Has a scientific background or understanding (this would be beneficial but not essential)
  • Can take responsibility for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with customers
  • Can provide a high level of support and service to existing accounts
  • Shows the necessary enthusiasm to grow territory performance by approaching new and prospective customers, be it by arranging prior appointments or by 'cold-calling’
  • Has a proven track record of success within a sales environment
  • Displays a self-motivated and driven personality
  • Has good interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Has a full clean UK driving licence

Customer Services Coordinator

As an integral part of a busy Customer Service Team you will be required to offer full support to customers and sales managers within an allotted region of the country. You will be responsible for supporting our customers with their daily enquiries, placing their orders and resolving any queries they may have to a very high standard. An essential part of your role is to learn and understand the requirements of your sales manager and customers through building relationships, delivering service excellence and exceeding expectations.

Duties and responsibilities 

  • Deliver a first class customer experience 
  • To be able to communicate clearly and have the ability to work closely with your Sales Manager and other internal departments in order to ensure continuity of service and assure delivery in a timely and efficient manner
  • Place orders and ensure that your customer is kept up to date at all times with the progression of their order
