  • Service Desk Analyst

    Reporting to:  Desktop Support Analyst  

    Work in close cooperation with: Systems & IT Manager, IT Business Systems Manager and all other SLS Company functions.  

    Position Summary: This role is designed for someone who is passionate for IT and has strong customer service skills to provide first line IT support to our colleagues. You will provide effective 1st Line Support & training primarily for our Nottingham Site, but also provide telephone support to the whole SLS Group.     

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to; 

    • Support all 1st line IT queries for all SLS employees
    • Answer calls and logging calls on our ticketing system promptly and in a professional service led manner
    • Provide an efficient and personalised support service to our customers Wherever possible, resolve and close calls at the point of first contact
    • Managing customer expectations
    • Provide support outside normal working hours, if required 

    Attributes required: 

    Able to demonstrate high level of ability in the following areas 

    • Strong customer service skills, resolving queries at first point
    • Advantage experience in ticket systems
    • Excellent communication and people skills
    • An analytical mind-set, and ability to seek solutions to problems
    • A flexible approach to work
    • Workflow Co-ordination Experience
    • A high level of personal commitment to task completion, with the ability to prioritise
    • ITIL best practices 

    Skills required: 

    • Creation/management/updating of Documentation

  • Marketing Manager

    At Scientific Laboratory Supplies (SLS) we are currently looking for a Marketing Manager to join our ever-growing team as the UK’s largest independent supplier of laboratory equipment, chemicals and consumables. Because of our independence we are unique in the market and we are looking for someone who will relish the opportunity of being a part of a fast-paced, flexible and dynamic Marketing team whilst providing a lead role in strategizing and developing the Marketing function.

    Through sustained growth, SLS continue to take significant leaps in the laboratory market as our business model allows us to be flexible to market conditions and jump on opportunities as they present themselves. Working with a portfolio of 4,000 suppliers and over 500,000 products, this role will encompass all aspects of modern Marketing activity.

    On a day to day basis, your role will include:

    • Using market research and analysis to direct marketing strategy and planning
    • Tracking all marketing and sales data and creating detailed written reports and verbal presentations for senior executives
    • Working closely with the marketing teams to develop detailed marketing plans for all media channels and the sales teams/divisions
    • Supports and promotes the creative development of promotional materials, catalogues, website content, advertisements, and other marketing-related projects
    • Control over departmental budget to develop cost-effective marketing plans with demonstrable indications of return on investments
    • Build and maintain relationships with various media types, industry partners and advertising/marketing agencies.
    • Copywriting, editing and proofreading for a range of marketing materials including press releases, content, social media content and case studies
    • Co-ordination and management of company communications
    • Integral in the preparation and delivery of an industry leading Scientific Laboratory Show & Conference and other company attendance at trade shows and exhibitions.

    Your background:

    • You will have specific Industry experience and extensive scientific product knowledge with a good understanding of their target audience
    • Experience or qualifications in creative and writing skills including but not exclusive to press releases
    • Good organisation and planning skills
    • Extensive experience in interpreting and presenting marketing data analysis Good people management and communication skills
    • Proficient in CRM capabilities and data utilisation

  • Customer Services Coordinator

    As an integral part of a busy Customer Service Team you will be required to offer full support to customers and sales managers within an allotted region of the country.

    You will be responsible for supporting our customers with their daily enquiries, placing their orders and resolving any queries they may have to a very high standard.

    An essential part of your role is to learn and understand the requirements of your sales manager and customers through building relationships, delivering service excellence and exceeding expectations.  

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Deliver a first class customer experience To be able to communicate clearly and have the ability to work closely with your Sales Manager and other internal departments in order to ensure continuity of service and assure delivery in a timely and efficient manner
    • Place orders and ensure that your customer is kept up to date at all times with the progression of their order Manage and prioritise own work load
    • Take ownership to ensure tasks are completed fully Achieve pre-defined KPI’s and targets
    • Work to ISO 9001 standards

  • Sales Order Processing Administrator

    We currently have a full-time role available within the Sales Order Processing team.

    You will be responsible for processing all orders received via the website and customer facing portals.

    Duties and responsibilities   

    • Importing orders & processing orders  
    • Sanity checking to ensure customer details and pricing is correct  
    • Updating systems with relevant delivery dates  
    • Updating customers where applicable  
    • Liaising with internal departments to ensure product codes are established    
    • Updating of spread-sheets

    Job summary: To assist a fast-moving Purchasing Office in the progressing of orders and dealing with internal stakeholder queries

    Duties and responsibilities:  

    • Contacting suppliers to progress and update purchase orders
    • Checking order acknowledgements
    • Resolving price/order discrepancies
    • Maintaining a filing system for order acknowledgements
    • Maintaining the filing system for supplier delivery notes
    • Any other duties as deemed necessary
