To keep pace with customer demands and the growth we have seen over 2020/2021, we are recruiting an Account Manager for the South Wales region on a permanent basis.
Overseeing a portfolio of customers across a wide range of industries, a key component of success will be close coordination and collaboration with a team of product specialists leading these product segments to generates sales within your accounts to hit sales targets.

Being based within the South Wales, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire region, you will be selling laboratory consumables, chemicals and Equipment. There is an existing customer base which needs to be built upon and extended so Account Management skills and Business Development skills will be essential to success in this role.
You will be an experienced Account Manager who has a strong track record of selling into Educational and Medical institutions and have a determined approach to network through large, complex organisations to ensure you are in contact with all possible customers.
This is a field sales role where you will immerse yourself into the world of academia, research, biotech, clinical, pharma or industrial laboratory environments. Having a scientific background would be enormously helpful to ensure you can easily build credibility and trust with your customers.
You will be supported by a team of product and technical sales specialist, so you will need to be a strong team player who can reach out for help and support within your key accounts. You will need to collaborate and work effectively as a team to ensure you maximise all opportunities that present themselves. Using your colleagues’ specialist product and technical skills will allow you to distinguish yourself and your products from the competition.
This role requires a blend of account management skills and new business development. You need to take responsibility for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with customers to provide a high level of support and service to existing accounts. You must also show the necessary enthusiasm to grow your territory by approaching new and prospective customers. Being highly organised, taking time to plan and then execute your sales strategy will ensure success in this role.
You will be a passionate and enthusiastic Account Manager with experience in field sales. With experience of selling into large, complex public and private sector organisations, you will be an excellent communicator at all levels. You will need to liaise with internal and external stakeholders within the business but also within various department of the customers you are working with.
You will be a strong team player and look to support your colleagues with any sales of these key consumables products within their accounts, requiring collaboration and team spirit to ensure you work closely together.
We are looking for a high performing individual with previous experience in sales who will be able to apply this knowledge to the management of customer accounts with the aim of growing and retaining existing relationships and building new relationships. Alongside this, you will be motivated and pro-active in your approach to work, in order to drive business and generate new sales within new and existing customers.
As with all sales roles, you will be a strong negotiator, able to manage your own workload and prioritise workload, have an excellent eye for detail and take pride in your work.
A UK driving licence is essential for this role as you will be travelling around the region to your customers on a daily basis.
