  • Management Trainee

    We are seeking a self-motivated Management Trainee looking to take the next step in their career within Logistics. This is the perfect opportunity for you if you are people/ team originated, IT literate, analytical and you like problem solving.  

    Our Management Trainee Programme is based at our Distribution Centre in Nottingham, a first- class operation and great working environment. You will work alongside our experienced operational team who will provide both on the job training to utilise and develop the skills you have attained through your academic career.  

    During your programme, you will spend periods of time working as a Team Leader rotating across all operational departments. You will develop an in-depth knowledge of our operational processes, IT systems, quality controls and health and safety standards, as well as grow your people management skills as you lead a team. Throughout the rotations you will directly report into the Warehouse Manager.  

    Once you have developed in depth knowledge of the whole operation and systems you will start to get involved in operational projects such as operational tenders, systems and automation developments, establishing further regional distribution sites across the UK and Ireland to name a few.  

    To support your personal development you will receive formal training including ISOH managing safety, Team Leader Mentoring training program, MHE training.  

    About You:

    • With a relevant Degree, NVQ or equivalent, you will have already gained some practical experience in a warehouse/operational environment.
    • You will have an interest in project management and project delivery within the logistics industry.
    • You will be commercially aware, hands-on, analytical and logical.
    • You will thrive on challenge and take a proactive approach in a fast-paced environment. It is essential that you have a willingness to learn, are able to challenge yourself, have a strong sense of initiative and have the desire to grow as an individual as well as part of the business.

  • Key Account Coordinator

    We are recruiting for a Key Account Coordinator to join a small but highly effective team to provide support to the highest revenue generating and highest valued customers.  Working on a 1 2 1 basis with these customers, you will immerse yourself in their company so that you have a comprehensive knowledge of the company, their needs and preferences but also to be able to go above and beyond to support that customer.  

    The role is a very interesting and wide-reaching role which will give you exposure to sales, marketing, purchasing, dispatch, and quality.  You will be dealing with a wide range of people within your own company as well as within your customer’s offices and therefore being a strong communicator is essential.  You will naturally enjoy problem solving and be the type of person who Your style of communication will be professional, measured but caring.  You will genuinely want to help your customer and your desire to do a good job will be your overarching motivator.

    This is a brilliant role for an individual already in a business-to-business customer service role who is looking to take a step into key accounts.  You will have office-based experience.   

    We have a diverse customer base - we support scientists, technicians, clinicians. Ideally but not essential if you have dealt with universities, hospitals, research centres, life science companies, clinical, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, contract testing, utilities, nuclear, environmental and government laboratories bodies large, within the Scientific Market this would mirror the type of customer you would be dealing with.  

    As the Key Account Coordinator, you will be the primary point of contact for the customer, managing day to day activities such as sales order entry, chasing of outstanding orders, resolving complaints, handling enquiries, managing delivery expectations- all within a timely manner via phone or email.  You will also be responsible for ensuring that KPI’s and SLA’s agreed with the Customer are managed and exceeded- and will work closely with other departments to ensure this.

    You will be responsible for KPI reporting on your Key Accounts so you will need to be a confident user of Excel and able to present information clearly as well as complete existing spreadsheets of complex data.

    Job Summary

    Working closely with the Sales, Operations Team, Marketing, Business Support we are looking for a keen and committed individual to be part of the Quotations and Tenders team. The successful applicant will be supporting Sales colleagues, liaising with supplier partners (internally and externally) to form the best possible solution to customer enquiries.

    • To take information sent in various formats from the sales team and produce a high-quality quotation for the customer.
    • Liaise with internal colleagues such as TSM’s/RSM’s in deciding which suppliers to use for a tender bid.
    • Produce high quality written tender responses and adhere to the strict deadlines.
    • Complete cross reference sheets from the field and find suitable SLS codes.
    • To actively contribute to and maintain a central cross reference library.
    • Source alternative items from suppliers wherever necessary Answer technical/chemical queries sent in from SLS colleagues in a timely manner.
    • To actively contribute to and maintain a central technical library consisting of both product information and process information required for quotations and tenders

    About You

    We are looking for someone ideally with degree level qualifications in any of the following areas: Biochemistry/Biomedical Science/Forensics/Microbiology/Molecular Biology, who have ideally gained laboratory experience and have demonstrable excel skills.

  • Field Engineer - Northern England

    Being an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Engineer, you will be looking to specialise your skills into a more technical area.

    Being based from home each day, you will attend your customer appointments, delivering excellent customer service at all times. 

    You will be tasked with the installation, repair and maintenance of technical equipment to schools, universities, hospitals, laboratories and other technical environments.

    You will work closely with your fellow Field Engineers, supporting them with particular projects and maintaining great communication with your office based Service Coordinator. Whilst the majority of your work will be completed in the North of the UK, there may be the rare occasion where you will required to travel to other part of the UK and possibly even stay overnight.

    They will supply you with the tools and test equipment you require as well as a company vehicle in order to be able to do your job to the very highest level.  

    In addition to your technical skills, we will also look for you to complete job sheets, parts order requisitions and expenses.

    You will be an experienced Account Manager who has a strong track record of selling into Educational and Medical institutions and have a determined approach to network through large, complex organisations to ensure you are in contact with all possible customers.

    This is a field sales role where you will immerse yourself into the world of academia, research, biotech, clinical, pharma or industrial laboratory environments.  Having a scientific background would be enormously helpful to ensure you can easily build credibility and trust with your customers.

    You will be supported by a team of product and technical sales specialist, so you will need to be a strong team player who can reach out for help and support within your key accounts.  You will need to collaborate and work effectively as a team to ensure you maximise all opportunities that present themselves.  Using your colleagues’ specialist product and technical skills will allow you to distinguish yourself and your products from the competition.

    This role requires a blend of account management skills and new business development.  You need to take responsibility for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with customers to provide a high level of support and service to existing accounts.  You must also show the necessary enthusiasm to grow your territory by approaching new and prospective customers. Being highly organised, taking time to plan and then execute your sales strategy will ensure success in this role.

    Job summary  

    Management of the SLS supplier onboarding programme to ensure supplier compliance to required regulatory & ethical standards. This may involve conducting audits of our exiting supply chain partners.

    Duties and responsibilities  

    • Define & create supplier audit questionnaires that cover all current and future regulations
    • Management of the SLS supplier onboarding programme ensuring all activity is logged and managed.
    • Assist in the creation and updating of the SLS Procurement Policies
    • Train and communicate SLS policies with suppliers.
    • Conduct relevant audits, monitor supplier KPI’s & sending questionnaires. Follow up where necessary.
    • Produce regular KPI reports for supplier evaluation including delivery faults and OTIF statistics for the GM – Supply chain and the Purchasing Director.
    • Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with purchasing / company policies.
    • Influence and action the supplier’s chain to make required changes that may arise, monitor and follow up where applicable.
    • Assist the supplier approval process by assessing supplier capabilities and Health, Safety and Environmental risks and compliance with all current legislation.
    • Ensure all relevant activity is appropriately recorded on company CRM system. 
    • Other tasks as may be reasonably requested by the GM Supply chain and company Directors.

  • Sales Order Processing Administrator Full time and Part time

    We currently have a full-time role available within the Sales Order Processing team.

    You will be responsible for processing all orders received via the website and customer facing portals.

    Duties and responsibilities   

    • Importing orders & processing orders  
    • Sanity checking to ensure customer details and pricing is correct  
    • Updating systems with relevant delivery dates  
    • Updating customers where applicable  
    • Liaising with internal departments to ensure product codes are established    
    • Updating of spread-sheets

    Ideal Candidate

    • Literacy and numeracy
    • Computer literacy 
    • Interpersonal skills, appreciation of good internal and external customer service behaviour Organisation and planning
    • Highly PC literate and a good knowledge of MS Office
    • Attention to detail and be able to work at speed
