Chemical Sales Manager

Position Summary:  

Responsible for sales of the SLS Chemical product portfolio, your primary role will be to grow chemical revenues via both direct selling effort with key customers and through the provision of support and training for our wider sales team.  

SLS carry a portfolio of leading chemical brands and the successful applicant will lead the continued growth of this important part of our business. Previous demonstrable field sales success and an in-depth knowledge of the laboratory chemicals market are essential.  

Primary Responsibilities  

  • Achieve target revenues set by the company
  • Support and train the SLS general sales team to grow chemical sales
  • Visit customers directly to promote and sell the product portfolio
  • Liaise with Chemical Manufacturers to build  and deliver on sales plans   

Attributes & Skills Required  

  • Strong sales skills/experience
  • Broad knowledge of the laboratory chemicals market
  • Strong analytical Chemistry background and qualifications to degree level
  • Excellent communication skills

Life Science Sales Specialist – Scotland and the North East

Position Summary

This role is at the forefront of driving the sales of all Life Science Products directly to customers and via the Field Sales Team in Scotland and the North East. The ideal candidate would have an extensive knowledge of the Life Science sector ideally with research experience in the cell biology and/or molecular biology. Previous selling experience is preferable.     

Primary Duties         

  • Achieve Sales target set by the company
  • Visit customers to promote and sell the SLS Life Science range
  • Provide technical support to the Sales Force
  • Support the Field Sales Team with customer visits and demonstrations or any other required field activity
  • Attend joint customer visits with our key supplier Account Managers
  • Work with key suppliers and the TSM/RSM’s to create selling strategies and regional Marketing Promotions
  • Monitor personal sales against target for the Life Science product range

Attributes & Skills Required

  • Broad experience of Life Science consumables and equipment across all disciplines
  • Strong knowledge of Life Science Research and it’s applications
  • Relationship builder
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Able to prioritise work load and have a keen eye for detail
  • Organised and methodical
  • Self-motivated and driven (goes beyond the “9 to 5”)
  • Ability to motivate others within the SLS Sales Force to sell Life Science products
