Territory Sales Manager - Team South

Scientific Laboratory Supplies are currently recruiting for the position of Territory Sales Manager, reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, South UK.  

Selling laboratory consumables, chemicals, reagents, equipment and service into a territory covering the areas of Cambridge, East Anglia, Hertfordshire and Essex.  

Ideal Candidate:  

  • Has a minimum of 4 years field sales experience with previous roles ideally within academia and research, biotech, clinical and pharma or industrial laboratory environments.
  • Has a scientific background such as laboratory work experience or a scientific degree or equivalent.
  • Understands procurement processes and platforms, as well as frameworks within different establishments and able to identify opportunities to tender for larger contracts.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Can take responsibility for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with customers.
  • Will be an enthusiastic and professional Account Manager to present and promote SLS products to the highest standard.
  • Shows the necessary enthusiasm to grow territory performance by approaching new and prospective customers, be it by arranging prior appointments or by 'cold-calling.’
  • Will plan and attend exhibitions at private companies, science parks and Universities, and attend national sales meetings.
  • Has a proven track record of success within a sales environment.
  • Has familiarity with creating and maintaining records within a CRM system.
  • Displays a self-motivated and driven personality, is customer and performance-focused, delivering an excellent service with efficiency and positivity.
  • Has good interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Has a full clean UK driving licence  

The Territory Sales Manager’s primary goal is to achieve and exceed sales targets by undertaking all aspects of the sales cycle from lead generation and cold calling activities, right through to negotiation and closing of each sale. They will arrange appointments, follow-up on quotes, samples, and leads as well as identify and conduct key account analysis, create and develop plans to maintain existing business and gather information for new opportunities. They will respond to customer enquiries promptly, liaising with internal support to assist where necessary. In line with the business strategy, the role will involve working alongside internal cross-functional teams, such as specialist product support managers, as well as manufacturer representatives and other support teams to deliver results that meet customer satisfaction, sales growth and success.

Quotations and Tenders Administrator

Reporting to: Quotations and Tenders Manager

Closing Date: Friday 6th September 

Salary: Depending upon experience

Job Summary: A keen and committed individual is required to work as part of the Quotation and Tenders team. The successful applicant will be supporting other members of the Q&T team as well as internal & external sales colleagues.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To take information sent in various formats from the sales team and produce a high-quality quotation for the customer (Primary resource for this)
  • To keep and maintain an electronic filing system of all quotes produced internally and externally.
  • To collate information from previously cross-referenced files and add it into the master cross-referencing database.
  • To support the team when producing tender responses, as required.
  • To produce and maintain management information reports required by the business on a monthly basis.
  • To maintain a central technical library consisting of both product information and process information required for quotations and tenders 
  • To ensure the Manager is provided with up to date work-in-progress information.
  • To ensure compliance with the official works procedure and adhere to the departments' commitment to work towards continuous improvement.
  • To commit to individual training and development plans for yourself and the team.
  • To maintain SLS reputation for first class personal service.
  • To support the Sales Office team when required 
  • To carry out any other reasonable requests detailed by your Manager.

Ideal Candidate:

  • To have good communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Strong Customer Service Ethic.
  • Attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications & relevant experience:

  • Highly PC literate and a good knowledge of MS Office, particularly excel and word.
  • Any previous front line customer service or quotation support experience would be an advantage.
  • Desirable – Maths and or English GCSE or equivalent.

Job Summary: This role is focused on growing and retaining customer accounts by establishing and maintaining strong relationships through regular account management. Other primary goals are to increase product penetration into accounts and develop new business. The applicant must be able to understand a diverse range of products ensuring that knowledge of features and pricing is up to date.

Customer Services Coordinator - Scotland

As an integral part of a busy Customer Service Team you will be required to offer full support to customers and sales managers within an allotted region of the country. You will be responsible for supporting our customers with their daily enquiries, placing their orders and resolving any queries they may have to a very high standard. An essential part of your role is to learn and understand the requirements of your sales manager and customers through building relationships, delivering service excellence and exceeding expectations.

Duties and responsibilities 

  • Deliver a first class customer experience 
  • To be able to communicate clearly and have the ability to work closely with your Sales Manager and other internal departments in order to ensure continuity of service and assure delivery in a timely and efficient manner
