The Stomacher® 3500 Thermo Bioreactor is used within the pork industry to prepare samples for detection of Trichinella. The heavy-duty machine is manufactured with a heater element inside the door to support this testing method and the samples of pork meat are digested inside the Stomacher® bag with enzyme and HCI acid. The resultant slurry is sieved and examined under microscopy for the presence of the Trichinella parasite.
