General description

Submandibular gland protein C (Smgc), also known as muc19 (mucin 19), belongs to the large gel-forming mucin family. It is secreted by the submandibular and sublingual glands in rodents. Smgc gene is mapped to mouse chromosome 15E3. The gene contains 60 exons and spans ~105kb on genomic DNA.

Physical form
