Application

Nystatin suspension has been used: to inhibit caveolin-mediated endocytosisas a component of Eagle′s minimum essentialmedium(EMEM)to enumerate lactic acid bacteria (LAB)in preventing cell culture contamination and inducing interleukin (IL)-1, IL-8, and tumor necrosis factor a secretion in toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2)-expressing THP1 cells. This product is recommended for use in cell culture applications at 24 mL/L.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Nystatinis a polyene, broad-spectrum antibiotic, which modifies the microstructure of lipid rafts. It can sequester cholesterol present on the cell membrane of eukaryotes. Nystatinregulates immune responses through cytokinesignaling, lymphocyte activation and pathogenrecognition.

Caution

This product is stable at 37°C for three days.

Nystatin suspension available in 20 mL and 100 mL pack size.Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage.
