General description
The Corning 96 well protein crystallization plate features large reservoir wells with corresponding protein wells. It is made of an advanced optical polymer (cyclic olefin copolymer (COC)) superior to polypropylene and polystyrene, which has higher optical clarity and greater resistance to organic solvents. The plate can be used for the sitting-drop method for high-throughput protein crystallization, and is compatible with manual pipettors and robotic operations. The large reservoir well has a maximum volume of 100 µL, with a recommended working volume between 25 to 755 µL for screen reagents. The small protein well has a volume range of 1-4 µL.
Each well contains three 2µL conical flat bottom protein wells and one 100µL reagent reservoir Low volume 100µL reagent reservoir saves on reagent costs Designed for sitting drop vapor diffusion high throughput protein crystallization Manufactured from an advanced Cyclic Olefin Copolymer (COC) with high resistance to commonly used solvents, including acetone, acetic acid, butanone, ethanol, isopropanol, methanol, DMSO, nitric acid (65%), sulfuric acid (40%), hydrochloric acid (36%), and ammonia solution (33%) and improved transparency Allows protein crystals to be easily viewed under polarized light with minimal background interference Low water absorption of the polymer prevents loss of protein drop volume Reservoir numbers are embossed on each individual well for easy identification
