Biochem/physiol Actions
Bis(monoacylglycerol)phosphate (BMP) regulates late endosomes/lysosomes (LE/Lys) degradation pathway. It also modulates cholesterol homeostasis and trafficking of lysosomal enzymes. BMP is implicated in the digestion and recycling of membranous materials and synthesis of intra luminal vesicles.
General description
Bis(monoacylglycerol)phosphate (BMP) is an acidic phospholipid. It is mostly located in the lysosomal and endosomal compartments within cells.
