EGC may be used as an analytical standard for the determination of EGC in: Fruit juices by high-performance liquid chromatography with diode array detection (HPLC-DAD) combined with electrospray ionization (ESI) and triple quadrupole mass spectrometry. Green tea standard reference materials (SRMs) by LC coupled with particle beam/electron ionization mass spectrometry (LC-PB/EIMS). Tea extracts by HPLC with electrochemical detection (ECD) and in plant-based foods by HPLC-DAD.

Green tea polyphenol. Anticancer agent. Lower antioxidant activity than EGCG.
