Patented FTA technology simplifies the collection and storage of biological samples and the purification of nucleic acids at room temperature. FTA chemistry has been optimised to lyse cells and denature proteins upon application of the biological sample onto the card to protect nucleic acids from nucleases, oxidative, and UV damage. After drying, the released nucleic acids remain immobilised in the fibers of the matrix and are preserved for transport, immediate processing, or long-term room temperature storage.

Indicating FTA cards, recommended for colourless samples, changing colour from pink to white when sample is applied, verifying the location of the sample.
