General description
Also known as tetratricopeptide repeat protein 8, TTC8 is a BBSome complex that is required for ciliogenesis. It is known to associate with the Rab8 GDP/GTP exchange factor, which is localized in the basal body. Rab8(GTP) is produced and enters the primary cilium, where it promotes ciliary membrane biogenesis. Mutations in TTC8 have been identified in Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS), a genetic disorder which is characterized with obesity, retinal degeneration, and nephropathy.
Immunogen
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the TPR1 domain of human TTC8.
Epitope: TPR1 domain
