Biochem/physiol Actions
Phosphatidylethanolamine controls membrane fluidity in eukaryotic cells. Phosphoethanolamine (PHOS) has the ability to repress tumour growth bothin vitro and in vivo. It possesses anticarcinogenic effects. It can also prevent the mRNA expression of cyclin D1 and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1 (VEGFR1). Dabsyl-PE has the ability to quench superfolder green fluorescent protein, (SfGFP).
General description
Phosphoethanolamine is a precursor to phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine. Dabsyl-PE carries contains a dark quencher in the headgroup.
