Dowex® 50WX4 hydrogen form was used to investigate the effect of particle size on drug loading and release profiles. Dowex® 50WX4 hydrogen form when treated in boiling water converted D,L-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate diethyl acetal (barium salt) to free aldehyde D,L-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate.
