We are pleased to introduce Sami Heppell, the Life Science Sales Specialist for East Midlands and Cambridge. New to the SLS Life Science team, Sami has found a welcoming and knowledgeable group of colleagues who inspire her every day with their expertise and collaborative spirit. Originally from Middlesbrough, Sami embodies a friendly approach to all interactions, a trait she hopes resonates with customers.

Sami relocated to Nottingham for university and has enjoyed the city ever since. She holds a BSc and MSc in Animal Biology from Nottingham Trent University, which guided her career in molecular diagnostics.

Her professional journey began in a molecular diagnostics lab, primarily focused on COVID testing, where she discovered her passion for lab work in a busy industrial setting. She later worked in NHS pathology labs, performing various microbiology and molecular biology diagnostic techniques. Sami's journey then led her into R&D as a Product Development Scientist for a biotech company, where she developed extraction and PCR kits and engaged in customer relations. This role sparked her interest in a different career direction, ultimately bringing her to the SLS family.
