Dead-Cert® nanoparticles
Super-paramagnetic nanoparticles for direct removal of dead and dying cells from primary suspensions and cultures
Dead-Cert® nanoparticles are specially prepared to allow direct removal of dying and dead cells from cell suspensions and cultures with minimum fuss and maximum efficiency. The active components, stably coupled to the surface of these 250 nm particles, can selectively bind structures that are exposed on cells during and following death - either apoptosis or necrosis. All procedures can be carried out at 1 to 37ºC. No columns are required for magnetic separation. All Dead-Cert® Kits also include the Microtube Magnet (FDC-002) and the YES reference Medium (FDC-004).
Dead-Cert® imab6
Monoclonal antibody for quantitation of apoptosis and necrosis in cell culture
Dead-Cert® is a mouse IgM monoclonal antibody that has exquisite sensitivity in detecting early changes in the plasma membranes of cells of any type from any species undergoing apoptosis. Dead-Cert® Imab6 binds to phospholipid molecules, normally present on the inner leaflet of the plasma membrane, that become exposed on the outer surface of the intact membranes of cells undergoing apoptosis. The reagent is as sensitive as the commonly-used Ca2+-dependent phospholipid binding protein, annexin V. However, unlike annexin V, the binding of to apoptotic cells is Ca2+-independent and specialised binding buffers are therefore avoided. Used in conjunction with your choice of fluorochrome-coupled secondary antibody, Dead-Cert® Imab6 is a convenient, versatile and cost-effective alternative to annexin V for measuring apoptosis by flow cytometry or fluorescence microscopy. Dead-Cert® Imab6 can also be used to detect necrotic cells that have lost membrane integrity.
Dead-Cert® microtube magnet
Neodymium magnet for efficient separation of nanoparticles and microparticles
The Dead-Cert®microtube magnet comprises an injection-moulded plastic microtube stand housing a high energy neodymium magnet. It is designed to accommodate standard 1.5ml microtubes for separating tens of millions dead cells rapidly and efficiently in a single step using Dead-Cert Nanoparticles.
Store in a cool, dry place. Clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent if exposed to harsh solvents. Do not autoclave.

Handle with care. Keep loose ferrous material away and do not attempt to disassemble. Avoid direct contact with the magnetic material. Persons with pacemakers/ implants should avoid direct contact. Keep all magnetic media, watches and sensitive electronic devices away from the unit. Credit cards, tapes, and disks can be erased in the presence of a magnetic field. Maintain distance between two or more units.
