Scientific Laboratory Supplies Agree to Distribution Deal to Supply Honeywell Research Chemicals
Honeywell has chosen Scientific Laboratory Supplies (SLS) as a National Distribution Partner for the UK market to support the launch of a new business, Honeywell Research Chemicals, that will now include several brands and solvent and inorganic chemical products that were acquired from Sigma-Aldrich in December 2015. The agreement following Merck Darmstadt’s acquisition of Sigma-Aldrich includes the Fluka®, Hydranal® and Chromasolv® brands being added to the Honeywell portfolio, which already includes Riedel-de Haën®and Burdick & Jackson® ranges. These brands will no longer be accessible from Sigma-Aldrich after 13th December with SLS providing UK customers with a continuous source of the newly acquired Honeywell brands, without disruption to supply.
Honeywell Chemicals Available from SLS
Honeywell research chemicals are now available from Scientific Laboratory Supplies.
From 15th December 2016 Sigma-Aldrich will no longer distribute Fluka, Riedel-de Haen, Hydranal and Burdick & Jackson branded chemicals. However, as a preferred distributor partner for Honeywell research chemicals, we are pleased to advise you that SLS will continue to supply all of these Honeywell brands along with their Performance Grade portfolios.

Today is BBC Children in Need and here at SLS headquarters we’ve done our bit for charity by holding a samosa sale!

Scientific Lab Supplies Launches New Life Sciences Catalogue
Scientific Laboratory Supplies (SLS) are pleased to announce the launch of their second edition Life Sciences Catalogue. This edition is double the size of its predecessor and covers areas such as Cell Culture and Imaging, Bioprocessing, Electrophoresis, PCR, Sample preparation and purification, Transfection and Antibodies.

Charity Climb up Mount Kilimanjaro
After 6 years of talking about it, 2 years of planning, saving, training and periodic panics over making sure everything was right, Key Accounts Co-ordinator Kimberley Dale has started her trek of Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for the British Heart Foundation in memory of her uncle who died of an undiagnosed heart condition.
The trek will take roughly five days to the summit, hopefully arriving in time to see the sun rise and another 2 back down covering roughly 37 miles from gate to gate.

Scientific Centrepieces for Wedding Couple
Newcastle University technicians tie the knot with a little help from Scientific Lab Supplies. When enthusiastic science technicians, Anthony from Department of Dental Materials and Nicola, from ICM, were planning their wedding they knew a fitting centrepiece for their wedding breakfast tables would be a selection of scientific glassware to hold flowers.

Leading science academics and entrepreneurs from around the world gathered in Nottingham on Wednesday 25th May for the 2016 Scientific Laboratory Show and Conference. Organised by Scientific Laboratory Supplies (SLS) and The Science Council, “Working Together to Advance UK Science” attracted over 1,000 delegates interested in science innovation, professional career development, STEM work in schools and the latest laboratory technology.

Thank you to everyone that attended the SLS Laboratory Show 2016 at the East Midlands Conference Centre on Wednesday 25th May. The show was attended by over 1000 technicians and scientists from 20 countries making this year’s show the biggest and best to date. With support from the Science Council and our key sponsors Eppendorf and Corning, plus all of the leading manufacturers that were present including BD, Bibby Scientific, Grant, Motic, Ohaus, Thermo Scientific, we were able to ensure that the event was a huge success.

Nottingham hosts international scientists at top Laboratory Show
Leading science academics and entrepreneurs from around the world will be in Nottingham from Monday 23rd May to visit research projects and attend the 2016 Scientific Laboratory Show and Conference at the EMCC on Wednesday 25th May. Organised by Scientific Laboratory Supplies (SLS) and The Science Council, the 80 representatives from Africa, China, the Gulf States and Ireland will visit the University of Nottingham, School of Biosciences in Sutton Bonington, enjoy an evening at The Galleries of Justice, and join guests for a Gala Dinner before the main conference.

The History of the Laboratory in Ten Objects’ campaign gathers momentum ahead of international science show
Organisers of the biennial International Scientific Laboratory Show & Conference to be held in Nottingham, England this May are delighted with the immediate response to their campaign to chronicle the ‘History of the Laboratory in Ten Objects’. Nottingham-based Scientific Laboratory Supplies (SLS) and The Science Council are asking anyone with a passion for science to nominate the object they feel has had the greatest impact on lab-based scientific research over the last 200 years.

SLS Helps Raise Money for Cancer Research
Friday 26th February 2016 saw SLS
fundraising for the 1in2 Day in support of the John Van Geest Cancer Research
Centre and Nottingham Trent University.
The annual 1in2 Day helps to raise funds for the lifesaving work carried out by Nottingham Trent University and the John Van Geest Centre. The day is named in recognition of the statistic that at least 1in2 of us are now predicted to be diagnosed with cancer at some point in our lifetime.
